Painting of unknown woman attributed to Adolphe Rinck, mid-19th century New Orleans. This large oil on panel was buried under layers of dirt, soot and discolored varnish. After cleaning, the painting reveals an incredibly vibrant palette and a magnificent depiction of the lace and ribbons on the collar, cuffs and bonnet.
