Antique French Directoire Aubusson Carpet

Special Remarks:

This product is an antique Aubusson carpet from the late 19^th during Directoire period. It features foliate swags with floral baskets swirling themselves symmetrically around a classical cartouche/medallions with a rosette at the center . The one quirky aspect is the gardening motif with clipping shears and watering cans. It is surrounded by typically early French twisting ribbon stripe. This distinctly feminine rug is completed by the pastel coloration in various rose, salmon, green, blue, yellow, and off white tones.
