PowerBase Voice & Data Distribution System
Power Distribution System Components
Power Base Voice
& Data Zone Distribution Box
The
hub of the system through which all data runs
Zone Distribution Boxes
They
provide the transition from the building’s electrical system to
this power distribution system. They are the second in the hierarchy of the
system after the voice & data zone distribution box.
Service Modules
They provide
in-floor power and voice/data access and are available in quad and dual
receptacle configurations; they contain snap-in receptacles, which allow quick
change of circuit assignments and minimize the number of components in system.
Available in three
configurations — with one 8-wire port, two 8-wire ports, or three 8-wire ports5
Jumpers
They
connect Zone Distribution Boxes, Service Modules, Splitters, and
Infeeds for Haworth furniture and walls, Jumpers allow for the easy
plug-and-play connection between all of the system components.
Available in lengths from 5 to 50 feet
Splitters
They are even smaller connector blocks that allow four Jumpers to connect providing even more flexibility in the branching of power anywhere in the system.
Power Distribution Assemblies (PDAs)
They are the actual devices built into Haworth walls, panels, and tables, or adapted to existing conditions that provide electricity to the office space. In less complicated terms, they are simply the integrated power strips of the system
Flexible Connectors
They are the components that tie PDAs together for larger outlet capacities.
Receptacles
They are the typical electrical sockets that can be reprogrammed for various uses
Infeeds
They deliver the power from beneath the floor power via a splitter, or the system can be connected to building power through fixed wiring
Instillation Procedure:
This system arrives ready to install with all components pre- wired and pre-tested. Therefore, no field wiring required except in connection to building. All one has to do ic connect all of the pieces and install beneath an access floor connected connect to a modular wall system, preferably Haworth for ease of instillation.
Special Remarks:
The PowerBase is the only modular electrical system that provides “plug-and-play power” through a network of integrated parts that enable a flexible framework for office power and data solutions. When installed beneath an access floor, all one has to do is simply switch around a few wires to reroute power and data. This product works seamlessly with an entirely customizable Haworth office suite in which power and data, the access floor, heating and cooling solutions, and architectural division systems can all be integrated.
