Oversized French Art Deco rosewood buffet by Andre Sornay (1902-2000). Stepped body with 3 doors (1 glazed) enclosing shelves. Three drawers. Original brass handles with their original patina. Original glasses and marble tops. 1930's. France.

Unique South German Art Deco armoire, French influenced. Veneered in walnut in extremely well bookmatched pattern. Two door arched front flanked by connected pedestals, each with a 4 drawer bent front and piping on sides corresponding with the doors. Pedestals topped with bundled sunburst inlaid fans. Ball feet. Original brass handles. Interior sides of doors lined with original mirrors. Original finely finished interior with a shelf and a hanger bar. From a private Munich estate. 1930's.

Since its founding in 1974 by Gerardus Widdershoven, Maison Gerard has specialized in fine French Art Deco furniture, lighting and objets d’art. It has sustained a particular focus on and passion for the work of Maison Leleu, the famed French design house to which the gallery has devoted three exhibitions, in addition to providing the introduction to Françoise Siriex’s definitive text, The House of Leleu: Classic French Style for a Modern World. Maison Gerard has also helped to form the collection of Walter Chrysler Jr. which is now in the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk, VA.
